Platini je svima njima zaprijetio te će pokušati napraviti reda u svijetu nogometa, bar što se europe tiče.

2009 godine je provedeno ispitivanje u oko 700 klubova u europi, a njih pola je godinu završilo u debelom minusu. oko 60% prihoda klubovi troše na plače igrača i putovanja. Ukupna dugovanja klubova su prešla granicu od 1 milijarde eura, a svake godine sve više raste.
Iako je prihod klubova bio veći nego prethodnih godina, dug raste. To samo govori o pohlepnosti čelništva klubova koji žele zadržati dobre i kupiti još bolje igrače, a za cijenu ne pitaju.
”Ukoliko se nastavi ovakav trend mnogi će klubovi izgubiti pravo nastupa u Ligi prvaka i Europskoj ligi kada u lipnju stupi na snagu pravilnik o financijskom poslovanju klubova.”

Novi pravilnik koji stupa na snagu u lipnju kažnjavat će klubove koji će trošiti više negoli zarade, a UEFA je priopćila da će sankcije vrijediti od sezone 2014/2015.
